Medieval Castles & Educational Studies
Medieval castles can play an important role in education. Castles, knights, fairytales and magic kingdoms are part of childhood and there is rarely a child who is not delighted to imagine and draw their own castle. The past can truly come to life when combined with the history and design of medieval castles.
Castle owners are generally very keen to encourage visitors and many castles now offer school packs to help teachers plan their trips.
We will take a look at school trips to castles and make suggestions on planning and risk assessment. We will also provide a list of castles which positively welcome school parties and preview some of their information packs.
