Le Château de Gisors - France - Photo Gallery

The Château de Gisors is a French castle situated in the town of the same name in the départment of Eure, France. The castle was a very important fortress of the Dukes of Normandy mainly in the 11th and 12th centuries. It was particularly effective in the defense of the Anglo-Norman Vexin territory from the pretensions of the King of France. When we visited this ancient and fascinating castle, we arrived almost at closing time when there were virtually no other visitors and we were given a personal tour by one of the excellent French guides during which we took a huge number of photos which you see below.
